President’s
Message
December
21, 2020
Dear SJNIGP Members,
Congratulations – with a couple of
weeks left in the calendar, we are almost at the end of 2020. What a year it has been, from virtual
meetings to PPE, we have seen and done it all.
I want to thank all of you for
taking the time to participate in our monthly virtual meetings this year. I also want to thank the board and all of our
guest speakers for helping put the meetings together.
On behalf of the SJNIGP board and
myself, thank you for the reappointment.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with and for you for another
year. We are looking forward to
in-person meetings (hopefully) in 2021 and to continue providing educational
and networking opportunities for our members.
Friendly reminder, the 2021 SJNIGP
dues invoice is on the website at http://www.sjnigp.org
I wish you all a very and merry
happy holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year!
Happy Holidays,
Nicola Reid

Prevailing Wage Expanded to
include “custom fabrication”
Today Governor Murphy signed into
law A-3964/S-2454, which amends the definition of “custom fabrication” under
the "New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act". Specifically, the
definition of prevailing wage has been expanded to include “any other
fabrication which is either components or structures pre-fabricated to
specifications for a particular project of public work or of other materials
finished into components without further modification for use in a project of
public work or for use in a type or classification of a project of public
work.”
P.L. 2019, c. 44 took effect
immediately on March 18, 2019.
